Using an unsecured network in a public place can be risky as unauthorised people may try to intercept anything you're doing online. Vary the speed from a subtle, long cycle to a fast, watery warble…and myriad vintage vibrations in between. There's a bloke on the internet shows you how to get close to 5 effects with this one pedal, and he's right, it is well screwed together and orange.

Artists such as Eddie Van Halen made great use of the pedal and it can be heard on songs such as "Ain't talkin' 'Bout Love''. That's not a quick tweak, but a full multi-point setup by an experienced guitar technician who will check and adjust every single thing on your guitar, bass, ukulele or banjo to ensure it is performing at its absolute best. And for those of you purists out there who insist that this model will never be as good as an original, know that the EVH Phase 90 is what the man himself has been using on his own board since it came out over ten years ago. All guitar necks move and change over time so we will make sure that your frets are nice and flat as we go up the neck.Since 1972, MXR has been a pioneer of the effects pedal market with the revolutionary development of tough and rugged stomp boxes, simple utilitarian designs, small sizes, and 100% rich analog tone. MXR's legendary build quality and attention to detail are evident, with a robust metal chassis and metal footswitch that feels solid under the foot.

Of course some of them I can t compare with the original (which is of course one of the reasons I need a clone) but who cares about authenticity if the pedals sound great anyway. The hand-wired board features select resistors paired with handmatched FETs to achieve the same smooth and warm modulation as the original. Since then it can be found in studios, and on pedalboards across the world thanks to it's signature tone.

It is a compact pedal that takes up little room on any pedalboard but you will know it's there because the blue LED light is super bright. In general, we found that the most characteristic EVH tones were to be found between the 9:00 and 2:00 range. Only way to improve it is I would like a depth knob as the one knob set up doesn't give you many options. The knob is sensitive, but easy to control thanks to its oversized design, and unlike the other Phase 90 pedals, this one has a knob that has been painted with glow-in-the-dark paint, to make checking and changing your setting easy in a live situation.

The Phase 90 contributed to the unbelievable tones on "Eruption," "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love," "On Fire," and "Atomic Punk," plus many other timeless Van Halen tracks. Overdrive is literally what you get when a tube is pushed beyond its voltage limits causing a clip in the top of the waveforms resulting in a slight warm, fat and sometimes, sizzly tone. For acoustic guitars we will check the functions of the EQ system and controls as weel as check the internal cabling and jack socket. Remember too that it is not just how you set the knobs on a pedal, but where in your signal chain you place it, that will determine the effect it has on your sound. Lucky for you it is the twenty first century, and we don’t have to make decisions like that anymore.Merchant City Music Limited is a credit broker and is Authorised and Regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
